American Empire Is a Union “Far More Intimate [And Therefore] Much Wiser” (Madison, Federalist Paper 18)

This Republic penned and built
by Fathers’ unequivocal experience
& dreaming of a formidable UNION

(and it was improved “on the ancient mode”)
is a bypassed riddle, a tale of secret ineffable,
of woman in its center met and transformed

into the one who was made of earth
and who, in turn, has brought her man
back from heaven where he has never been.

Steadfast, immovable, and yet always moving
with throb and tremor, anxious beat inside,
in a world littered with kingdoms’ broken pieces,

he sees enemies—pale and paler devils,
vile bogeymen rioting with ghouls
& their evil magicians, those mad Marxists,

who, like a wholesale Hermes, keep
non-stop herding & counter-herding
for Hell a forlorn mankind’s surplus

and who know nothing of humanity’s
chosen few or a soul’s economic pricing
or have never heard of an angel’s whisper

that property is—but man’s liberty and life.
